Toronto, Canada, July 27 – Following an incredibly intense inaugural season which saw the Championship decided in the final laps of the last round, the GT Sprint Series is set to entice even more attraction as HyperX joins IVRA as the Official Gaming Peripheral Sponsor of the HyperX GT Sprint Series.
For the 2021/2022 season, HyperX joins IVRA as the Official Gaming Peripheral Sponsor of the HyperX GT Sprint Series. HyperX firmly established itself as one of the premier brands in professional-grade gaming products for PC and console gamers. As a sponsor to many top-tier eSports teams across different platforms, they are expanding their support to sim racing.
Sim racing has shown immense and rapid growth in the past 18 months, especially on the iRacing platform.
“We’re very excited to team up with IVRA for the HyperX GT Sprint Series as the Official Gaming Peripheral Sponsor”, said Chris Lim, sponsorship coordinator, HyperX. “We look forward to enhancing the gaming experience for the teams and drivers with professional-grade gaming gear to give them a competitive edge”
When IVRA began preparation for the first season under the IVRA banner, they recognized the increasing demand for GT3 sprint series. In addition to the regular IVRA Endurance Series and ClubSport Series, the GT Sprint Series was added to the schedule for the 2020/2021 season. With a challenging schedule that spanned 8 months, teams and drivers were put to the test in two 1-hour sprint races with a full reverse grid in the second race. Thirty- five teams joined for the inaugural season, in which the championship battle was decided in the final laps of the season finale at Mosport.
In its second season, the HyperX GT Sprint Series will challenge teams and drivers even further. The single season format has been split and compressed – there are now two seasons, fall and winter, each with six races which will run bi-weekly. iRacing has also added the Porsche 911 GT3R, and has increased the number of unique cars on a grid to 8, which opens up the field and competition even further. “We’re very excited to welcome HyperX to IVRA and the GT Sprint Series”, says Julian Bell, co-founder and organizer of IVRA. “With sponsorship from HyperX, we are able to offer teams and drivers even more with great Championship prizes in all classes. Not only that, but fans and spectators will also have the opportunity to win HyperX packages during each broadcast and there will also be a larger giveaway at the end of the season for those who have tuned in to all races”.
For both fall and winter 2021/2022 seasons, the HyperX GT Sprint Series will have Championship prizes for the top 3 teams in each class! There will be two of each prize up for grabs – one for each driver of a team:
First Place: HyperX Cloud Headset
Second Place: HyperX Alloy Keyboard
Third Place: HyperX Pulsefire Mouse + FURY S Mousepad
Registration for the 2021/2022 HyperX GT Sprint Series opens (and can be found on the website) on August 1, followed by Pre-Qualifying at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park on September 19, and Round 1 on October 10 at the Hungaroring (pending build).
