One of the many reasons to be excited for the new IVRA season is the newcomers to the grid. Many of these teams are only making the first brave steps into the world of simracing, and one of those teams is Sim City Racing. An early goal of theirs will be to qualify for two championships in IVRA with five cars, an achievement that would put them on the simracing map.

Firstly, they’re attempting to put three cars into the IVRA Endurance Series, one in LMP2 and two in GT3 Pro. In the LMP2, Erik Newman will be making an early Sim City Racing appearance having only left his previous team, Alpinestars Geodesic Racing, two months ago. However, Newman has been able to get a couple of longer endurance races under his belt at his new team alongside his teammate for this series, Chris Beets.

Among those in the pair of GT3 Pro entries is Team Owner Jason Allen. Allen started his simracing journey back in 2020 and aimed to build a team on family rather than all out performance. He vouched to focus on the road endurance side of iRacing, making IVRA a great series to compete in, but has expressed his desire to go further than that with Sim City Racing.

They will also have a pair of cars in the IVRA Clubsport Series. Their Porsche Cup car will be headed by Dalton Zavadil, a driver with plenty of experience in this car, and Uthman Alaoui. Alaoui is still in his early 20s but it’s clear the team believes in him greatly. His real-life racing experience no doubt helps with this, having driven Miatas competitively for some time.

Finally, Sim City Racing will also be fielding a car in the Sport category of GT4 machinery. Tackling the challenge of having to lap slower cars and be lapped by faster ones will be Mac Korince, Chris Beets and Kevin Carlisle. The latter will mostly likely be masterminding the setups for this team, with Carlisle’s success at doing so in the past.

The whole team is in for a huge challenge this season. Getting past the first hurdle, simply qualifying, will be tough in itself due to the high standard of competition existing at IVRA. However, with good spirits, a family feel and strong desire to just have fun doing what they love, Sim City Racing should have a successful first season.
