Nijmegen, NL – March 31, 2020 – ClubSport Series organizers Julian Bell & Casper de Kort have created a special ClubSport Summer Series which will race on June 6, July 4, and August 1.

In a truly unprecedented time globally, one in which we’re all facing an extremely large challenge together, community engagement and involvement is vital. We’d like to help in a way that we can and know how – a three race special event summer series with donations going directly to the WHO COVID-19 Response Fund.

The ClubSport Summer Series will run three races: Watkins Glen, Spa-Francorchamps, and Imola. Each race will be 6 hours long and broadcast live by RaceSpotTV. The field will consist of four classes: Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR, Audi RS 3 LMS, and the Global Mazda MX-5 Cup. There will be regular ClubSport Series Race Control including the addition of Safety Car Periods as seen in our partner series, the DGFX Endurance Series.

The registration process will be similar to the regular ClubSport Series protocol. Given the races are planned in a time when people’s calendars are often booked well in advance, we have opened up team restrictions to have an unlimited number of drivers on a given team, as well as the option to register an entry for a single race as well as the full season; teams who are registered for the season and not a single race will be given entry priority however.

We hope to not only engage the sim-racing community with a series to run during these complicated times, but also enable us to contribute to helping others around the world. ClubSport’s chosen method of contribution is donating to the WHO COVID-19 Response Fund. The Fund supports tracking the spread of the virus, ensures patients get the care they need, frontline workers get essential supplies and information, and accelerates efforts to develop vaccines, tests, and treatments. We encourage participating teams to make a donation to this Fund if they have the means to. Because of this, we are keeping our entry fees at an absolute minimum to cover the broadcast cost and the server hosting fees. Donations can be made alongside the submission of the entry fee, but you can also donate directly by following this link: https://covid19responsefund.org/ Any payments to us higher than the series entry fee will be donated directly to the WHO Covid-19 Response Fund, alongside our own $100 donation.

As an added bonus to a special event triple-header, the winners of each class will receive a single free entry to Season 4 of the ClubSport Series powered by DGFX. The ClubSport Summer Series will be open to all registrants, and in order to qualify for a free entry the winners of each class must also be below 70 CPI in every race.

Regulations will be available on Sunday, April 5. Registration will open on Sunday, April 12 at 1600GMT.
Teams and individuals are welcome to join the Discord server at any time: https://discord.gg/hjGKjYD. Any individual who would like to participate but is without a team will find a “Driver’s Market” text channel in the server to help them find or create a team.
