IVRA will be taking a break for a little while.
This decision has been made for a combination of reasons in our personal and professional lives. Organising IVRA takes a lot of time beyond the race days, and in the coming period there will not be enough time available to organise either the Endurance or Clubsport Series to the standard that we want to achieve. Attempting to do so would not be an enjoyable experience, and as we do this in our spare time, this is the main condition to continuing with IVRA.
As some of you may know, I (Casper) work for Creventic. There, I am responsible for the sporting organisation of the race events. All-in-all, it’s fairly similar to what needs to be done for IVRA. Regulations, BOP, handling feedback from teams, etc. IVRA started in my spare time as a hobby, and now my job has become that same hobby. Don’t get me wrong – I’m not complaining about my job – but being practical, I’d like to spend my spare time doing something different to what I already do in my job. At the same time, Creventic’s biggest event every year is the 24H Dubai. I’m sure I don’t have to expand too much on the impact of the current political situation in the Middle East on Creventic. The next six months will be hectic professionally.
Richard has in the recent past started a new job, and is doing well there. This however is asking a lot of his time, which he wants to invest to build his career. Combine this with moving house soon along with other personal commitments of importance, and the time for IVRA becomes limited quickly.
Considering all of this within the context of a wish to also take part in more races – that goes for both of us – and the decision to spend what sim racing time there is on actually driving is the sensible decision for both Richard and myself. On that note, we would recommend to check out Sim Racing Republic for those looking for something similar to IVRA. Their season will be starting soon, and you will see us racing there as well.
IVRA will be taking a break, and while we do, we will be thinking about how to plan events that will fit into the circumstances described. If we have news, it will be posted on our Discord server.
For now, thank you to all teams and drivers who have taken part in all seasons past.
